Vision

Beirut, a City where citizenship, community engagement, preservation of cultural and artistic heritage, and sustainability are a lifestyle not a mission.

Mission

A group of busy bees aiming to create a positive change in Beirut, by developing the city, reviving its cultural heritage, and sustaining the ecosystem through environment and Public Space reforms.

How to achieve our mission?

A-Developing and embellishing neighborhoods

Lebanon has a lot of potentials and there are lots of improvements that can be made. We take care of that through street cleaning, painting facades, planting, and more recently after the explosion through damage assessment, BOQ, furniture exchange, shops rehabilitation etc.

Based on the afore, our NGO believes in the power of change that the young generation can bring to our community. Thus, a team of young experts in collaboration with the civil society have decided to shadow some of those governmental institutions to uncover the infractions exerted by them.

B-Preserving Lebanon’s cultural and artistic heritage (Old houses, Streets, Souks, Museums, Art centers)

Lebanon’s cultural and artistic heritage is spectacular. Having passed through many civilizations and empires, it is the setup of a remarkable story, from the Phoenicians and Babylonians to the Romans and Ottomans. This has left Lebanon with a strong cultural heritage and our aim is to preserve it through:

      1. Raising Awareness about this heritage and the story behind our country
      2. Working towards preserving decaying historical ruins and buildings and fighting against their destruction.
      3. Empowering all traditional craftsmanship and ensuring their survival for the next Era.

C-Taking care of the Environment and public spaces

To better sustain our ecosystem, Beirut Busy Bee will advocate for the enforcement and implementation of the SDG #11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG #12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG #13 (Climate Action), SDG #14 (Life Below Water), SDG #15 (Life on Land) to prevent environmental degradation through:

      1. Promoting Sorting from Source to ensure Responsible Consumption & Production
      2. Protecting and Reviving Public Spaces
      3. Raising Awareness and Acting on Environmental Issues

Who can Help?

Literally anyone who cares about Lebanon, the environment and public spaces.

And especially social activists, urban planners, engineers, architects, history buffs and environmentalists.
